WHY I WRITE ?
A poem about the joys of writing
Pen and paper
Words unroll
A flight that occurs in silence
Reflects a dream in waking hours.
Ink on paper
I write to capture ideas
And thoughts that drift like mist
On blank pages
That let my soul live
At midnight soul’s release.
In darkness
Through distant sight
And mortal’s blood
I write as words
Whispers like raindrops
At heart’s peace
Where I find delight.
I was asked recently by an acquaintance what was my favourite pastime. I said writing. “Writing, but why?” He asked. I told him he’d have to read all my poems and stories to figure it out. Because unless he appreciates what I do, he’ll never get it.

Here is a beautiful poem that captures vividly the ocean. His Villanelle poetic form is new to me, but beautifully presented.
